While there is no dearth of Appswitchers when it comes to jailbreak tweaks for your Jailbroken iPhone 4S, iPad or iPod touch, Simplexity is one of the many appswitchers available that really defines its name, i.e its simplicity. For those of you who don’t know what an appswitcher is, it basically is a program that lets you easily switch between your applications on your iPhone or iPad, and gives you many options to setup the look and feel of how they operate.
Simplexity really lives up to its name when it comes to aesthetics of this appswitcher. The layout is very minimalistic and easy on the eyes, and you get a great new way to multitask with your applications and determine which apps to run and which to kill on your iPhone.
The look of Simplexity is somewhat similar to the notifications system introduced by Apple in the iOS 5. It also incorporates UI loaders such as brightness sliders to adjust your screen brightness and a dock to access your favorite applications, Wi-Fi loaders to monitor your Wi-Fi connection and music controls to toggle your music as well. So basically gives you a lot of functionality, packed and condensed in a simple to use menu interface.
One thing that I really liked was the Android style “Kill all apps” button which lets you terminate all running apps and free up resources instantly. Simplexity offers an obscene amount of customization options. These customizations can range from UI table elements, changing the color of backgrounds, text fonts and colors, border colors etc and the list goes on.
Simplexity sure addresses the limitations of iOS 5 when it comes to a dedicated multitasking appswitcher. Coupled with a nice and clean user interface, you just can’t go wrong with Simplexity. Anyhow, be prepared to shell out $2.99 for it on the Cydia store if you ever decide to install Simplexity on your iPhone
