Add Push Notifications to Sparrow using Push Sparrow

Earlier today, we posted a complete review about the amazing Mail alternative app for iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. No doubt, it is one of the best apps for mail which allows you to have best Email experience on your device. Besides its amazing feature, one thing was missing in this application and that was the support for push notifications. Natively, this app doesn’t support push notifications and probably this may a reason that some buy will not spend $2.99 in iTunes to get this application.

Well, for all the sparrow app lovers, we have great news, now you can activate push Notifications for Sparrow app using a simple Cydia tweak. But be sure that you have Jailbroken your iDevice. You can easily download this free app, called Sparrow push and can later activate it from settings in Sparrow. Here’s the description by the developer:

After a long anticipation the iPhone application “Sparrow” was released with a disappointing limitation through Apple’s restrictions: Users are not notified of new mails if the application is not running. The jailbreak tweak “Sparrow Push” enables this functionality using IMAP idle and makes Sparrow a complete replacement for the stock mail client on the iPhone.

Sparrow Push will also do it’s best to restart Sparrow if it is quit or you restart your iPhone
