@nlite Be sure that when it asks for the IPSW files, you are pointing Redsn0w to the correct version of each IPSW file for your device at the correct time, and when it asks for the SHSH, be sure you are pointing it to your device's 5.0.1 SHSH. If you don't have the 5.0.1 SHSH blobs for that device it will not work. That is why the developers always remind everyone to save each firmare's SHSH even if there is no current use, because you never know when a tool like this will come around and make use of them. I save mine to my pc, a thumb drive and to Dropbox so I have redundancy in my backup in case something was to happen, or (god forbid) Cydia has an issue where it loses them (unlikely, but possible, & you don't want to be left out in the cold if something were to happen like that).

@nlite @iSteve_O 100% correct. If the device has never been on 5.0.1 there is no way you could have saved the SHSH, therefore you will have to wait for the new jailbreak tool. Should be in the next few weeks though.

@nlite Also, there are 2 builds of 5.0.1 for the 4s (9A405 & 9A406). Try pointing Redsn0w at whichever version you haven't tried yet and see if that works for you. Try them both, because it can't hurt.

@ThomasHiggins No, these are device-specific, and the only result you will gett from that is failed restores and blob mismatch errors (& a few headaches). It's a unique signature containing info about your device and the specific firmware build. You're another that will have to wait for the newest jailbreak to be released. Don't waste your time even trying with these mismatched blobs.

@SuPaDjStony umbrella hasn't been updated for the new iPad or iOS 5.1.1, I believe. You will have plenty of time to save 5.1.1 SHSH, but it is too late to save 5.1, since apple is no longer signing it. You will just have to wait a few weeks for the new 5.1.1 jailbreak tool to get what you want. Sorry to be the bad news guy but it really shouldn't be long in the grand scheme of things. Sorry buddy.

@alexbardall1234 For iPad to wifi you download the ipsw that says ipad2,1 & for iPad 2 GSM (AT&T) download ipad2,2 & for CDMA (Verizon) ipad2,3. You should be able to figure everything out from that info.

@Dj7257 Make sure you are using the correct IPSW file. I believe the newest iPad 2 that is being sold along side the new iPad uses the newest IPSW. Do you even have the 5.0.1 SHSH for that particular iPad? It sounds to me like you are trying to use the wrong SHSH blobs or the wrong IPSW file. Double check all of that really well. I recommend using tiny umbrella or redsn0w to query Cydia to see if this device's blobs are on the server.

@JoshuaRay85 If they're saved on Cydia you can use tiny umbrella or Redsn0w to fetch them if you've been jailbroken before on the device and firmware you are restoring to. If you've never saved them or have never been jailbroken you'll just have to wait for the new 5.1.1 jailbreak tool they are working on.

@eldad1788 Use tiny umbrella and under the advanced tab check "request SHSH from Cydia" then click your device in the left pane and click save SHSH button and the ones on Cydia will be saved to your specified local directory, but it looks like this tool will do it also, and will even do it for you automatically if you tell it to do so when it asks for your SHSH because redsn0w actually gets it from Cydia when it fetches them for you. If you want to be sure they are there then you should query Cydia yourself using either tiny umbrella or this very redsn0w tool.

@SeanCruiser @donald jones there are many versions of each firmware for many different devices. For the iPad 2 alone there are about 3 or 4, I think, and also, I believe there are for the 4s as well. Just double check these, and also verify that the SHSH blobs are good. I believe you can do that in redsn0w under the extras menu, but I'm not sure if it works for A5 SHSH or not. That's all I can tell you. Another site says in its instructions to put the device into pwned DFU using redsn0w before beginning the downgrade, but I haven't tried this, and thought that it was not possible because it relies on the boot level limera1n exploit which is only for A4 and lower devices. But that's just my understanding, and I don't think it would hurt to try, it'd just tell you the device isn't compatible.

@titto224 Unfortunately you'll have to wait for the new 5.1.1 jailbreak tool they are currently working on. It shouldn't be long though, as they are just polishing and tweaking the final smoothing touches to make it perfect for us!
