AnimateDock Lets you Add Animations To The iPhone’s Dock [jailbreak Tweak]

by on July 21, 2012

Let’s face it. The dockscreen on the iOS 5 is probably one of the most prominent interfaces on our iPhone’s screen and as such has been a regular target of jailbreaks tweak developers who try to squeeze even more functionality out of it. If you have been a fan of similar jailbreak tweaks in the past, than you would like AnimateDock, the latest jailbreak tweak that lets you add cool animations to the iPhone Dock.

The iPhone dock usually houses the most commonly used applications set according to each users preferences. Jailbreak tweak developers therefore come up with their concoctions that let you change the way the dock looks and behaves, in order to let you have a more personalised experience with your iDevice. Springtomize 2 is a good example for such types of jailbreak tweaks. AnimateDock, while not something extraordinarily new, would still bring a nice touch to your iPhone’s dock with it’s share of animations and effects.

AnimateDock

AnimateDock would essentially let you add subtle animations to your dock icons. You can use AnimateDock to increase or decrease the sizes of icons on the dock, rotate and set their orientation, speed up or slow down the animations and some other similar effects. You would be able to set all that from AnimateDock’s settings menu.

The standout feature that we found was the ability to set or disable badges and notifications on the icons. So if you find them too intrusive, you could just turn them off. Another cool feature of AnimateDock is that it can also turn off the reflection effect on the iOS 5 dock.

VincenzoBB is the creator of this AnimateDock jailbreak tweak and he has made this available via the Cydia store for a price of $0.99. You can find it under the ModMyi repository. But you must have a jailbroken iPhone to use AnimateDock. Jailbreak your iPhone today if you still haven’t done it to try AnimateDock by yourself.
